Most of the time that means cheaper rates than a standard tariff. Sometimes it means rates so low they go negative.</p> <hr> <h3 id="what-is-plunge-pricing">What is plunge pricing?</h3> <p>On windy days or when solar generation is high, the UK grid can have more supply than demand. When that happens the wholesale price drops, sometimes below zero. On Agile, that gets passed straight to you. The grid pays you to use electricity.</p> <hr> <h3 id="is-it-worth-it">Is it worth it?</h3> <p>Yes, if you are willing to shift some usage to cheaper windows.
